“As consumers we have so much power to change the world by just being careful in what we buy” – Emma Watson
KEEPING ARTISAN CULTURE ALIVE
It is very important to us as a brand to make sure that we are keeping Artisan culture alive, and that our customers know from where their clothing is produced.
WHAT DOES ARTISAN MEAN?
An Artisan is a person or company that makes a high-quality or distinctive product in small quantities, usually by hand or using traditional methods.
During coronavirus unfortunately over 5,000 garment workers in Indonesia lost their job. We saw this as an opportunity and reached out to local artisans in the community who had been financially affected.
WHO MAKES YOUR CLOTHES?
He is a local gem and our specialist tailor.
He is the maker behind our logo tees and print.
MEET RAS AYU
Ras Ayu adds the sparkle to our logo tees, she beautifully hand stiches every little sequin and bead on our logo tees.
By working with small family businesses and local artisans this ensures that we are not only making more jobs available, but also keeping their traditional craft alive. All our garments are slow fashion and made with love. Each piece from the colour picked, to the dyeing, fabric printing and beading is all made by hand. Utilizing the makers skills, keeping tradition alive and relying less on machines.
